THE BROOKLINE SPA
BROOKLINE, MASSACHUSETTS
After serving his country in the US Navy during WWII, our grandfather, Papa, bought The Brookline Spa in Brookline Massachusetts. In New England, "spa" is a colloquial term for a neighborhood convenience store or small luncheonette. His local spa sold staple groceries, newspapers, beer and wine, lottery tickets, candy, snacks, soda, coffee, breakfast and, best of all, legendary subs and sandwiches. It was the local gathering spot for neighbors and friends and his cheeseburger sub was famous. One by one his children came to work for him where he taught them the value of hard work. But more importantly to them was watching their father in his element, how he interacted with his customers, how fair he was to his patrons and how he would feed the man who had no money. The community of Brookline embraced him for 45 years until he retired in 1995. The Brookline Spa is still operating today under the same name.
From his experience working for his dad, our father then went on to open many spa-like stores in New Hampshire and then in Florida. He currently is the proud owner of Royal Subs in West Palm Beach.
His sons, that’s us, followed in the industry operating many stores throughout New Hampshire until we eventually navigated our way south. In 2026, we purchased Tsunami Subs & Wraps in Boynton Beach, Florida to ensure you have a nearby welcoming spot to enjoy mouthwatering tsunami sized offerings.
In 2015, our Papa passed on, but we didn’t lose a great man to realize how lucky we were. Leading by example, and keeping with the long history of The Brookline Spa, we look forward to continuing to serve the community of Boynton Beach with breakfast items, our mainstay subs, wraps, and salads and catering. Order online, take-out or eat in. We provide an inviting environment to enjoy a meal with family and friends. Swing by and taste the wave of flavor waiting for you.
